Handmade Valentine’s Day Cards

Handmade Valentine's Day Cards - Valentines Card Superhero - From TeacherHelpForParents.com

While reading Family Fun magazine this month, I came across these clever ideas for class valentines. The Family Fun site has directions, templates, etc to make these cards. My favorite is the “Caped Cute-Sader” pictured above.

Ginormous Lollipop

Here is a Valentine’s Day card that is an actual snap shot of your child with a real lollipop attached as an extra treat.

Butterfly Card

Card stock paper and old-fashioned candy sticks are the main parts for making this valentine.

Crayon Hearts

Melt old crayon pieces in a heart-shaped cookie tin to make this colorful valentine. I can just see the kids who receive this valentine using the heart to color.

Watercolor Salt Valentines For Your Child's Class Party- The salt leaves a cool effect! From TeacherHelpForParents.com

Watercolor salt valentines are a creative way to make cards.  Using salt creates a fun effect on the paper.

Watercolor Salt Valentines Cards

First, tape watercolor paper to a table with masking tape.  Next, use watercolors to paint the background of your masterpieces.  While the paper is still wet, sprinkle it with salt.  Then, allow the paper to dry.  After the paper is dry, wipe off the salt.  You will see how the salt leaves a fun effect on the paper.  Finally, remove the tape and cut out heart shapes.

You can punch holes in the top of the hearts, thread ribbon through the holes, and attach to pencils.  You can also add packets of candy hearts.
